So How Come Missouri Has NO ILLEGALS?

Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

Read the answer. Isn’t it funny how simple answers are available for just about everything… Missouri has no illegals, go figure… Missouri’s approach to the problem of illegal immigration appears to be more advanced, sophisticated, strict and effective than anything to date in Arizona. Do the loonies in San Francisco, or the White House, appreciate what Missouri has done? When are our fearless President and his dynamic Attorney General going to take action to require Missouri start accepting illegal immigrants once again?

So, why doesn’t Missouri receive attention? Answer: There are no Mexican illegals in Missouri to demonstrate. The “Show Me” state has once again shown us how it should be done. There needs to be more publicity and exposure regarding what Missouri has done.

In 2007, Missouri placed on the ballot a proposed constitutional amendment designating English as the official language of Missouri. In November, 2008, nearly 90% voted in favor! Thus, English became the official language for ALL governmental activity in Missouri . No individual has the right to demand government services in a language OTHER than English.

In 2008, a measure was passed that required the Missouri Highway Patrol and other law enforcement officials to verify the immigration status of any person arrested, and inform federal authorities if the person is found to be in Missouri illegally. Missouri law enforcement officers receive specific training with respect to enforcement of federal immigration laws.

In Missouri, illegal immigrants do NOT have access to taxpayers benefits such as food stamps and health care through Missouri Health NET. In 2009, a measure was passed that ensures Missouri ‘s public institutions of higher education do NOT award financial aid to individuals who are illegally in the United States. In Missouri, all post-secondary institutions of higher education are required to annually certify to the Missouri Dept. of Higher Education that they have NOT knowingly awarded financial aid to students who are unlawfully present in the United States.

So, while Arizona has made national news for its new law, it is important to remember, Missouri has been far more proactive in addressing this horrific problem – but on a gradual basis. Missouri has made it clear that illegal immigrants are NOT welcome in the state and they will certainly NOT receive public benefits (that’s social benefits) at the expense of Missouri taxpayers.

ObamaCare and Home Sales

Thursday, February 16th, 2012

This is a MUST read! What if you are forced to sell?

ATTENTION ALL HOMEOWNERS!!

BIG QUESTION FOR REALTORS IS: “WILL WE BE ABLE TO SELL A HOUSE after 2012 if nothing is done?”

The National Association of REALTORS is all over this and working to get it repealed, before it takes effect. But, I am very pleased we aren’t the only ones who know about this ploy to steal billions from unsuspecting homeowners. How many REALTORS do you think will vote Democratic in 2012?

Did you know that if you sell your house after 2012 you will pay a 3.8% sales tax on it? That’s $3,800 on a $100,000 home, etc. When did this happen? It’s in the health care bill and goes into effect in 2013. Why 2013? Could it be that it is intended to come to light AFTER the 2012 elections? So, this is “change you can believe in”?

Under the new health care bill all real estate transactions will be subject to a 3.8% Sales Tax. If you sell a $400,000 home, there will be a $15,200 tax. This bill is set to screw the retiring generation who often downsize their homes. Does this make your November and 2012 vote more important?

If you weren’t aware this was in the ObamaCare bill, guess what, you aren’t alone. There are more than a few members of Congress that aren’t aware of it
either

On the Occupy Wall Street Movement

Thursday, February 16th, 2012

By Dr. Thomas Sowell

“The current Occupy Wall Street movement is the best illustration to date of what President Barack Obama’s America looks like. It is an America where the lawless, unaccomplished, ignorant and incompetent rule. It is an America where those who have sacrificed nothing pillage and destroy the lives of those who have sacrificed greatly.

“It is an America where history is rewritten to honor dictators, murderers and thieves. It is an America where violence, racism, hatred, class warfare and murder are all promoted as acceptable means of overturning the American civil society.

“It is an America where humans have been degraded (more…)

Neighbor, How Stands the Union [Our Constitutional Republic]?

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

William J. Dell
Amore Dei, Familiae, Patriae ducit !

Our Founding Fathers stated in the Preamble of our Constitution that one of its purposes was to “secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.” In 1937, Stephen Vincent Benét wrote a short story called The Devil and Daniel Webster. From it I have taken the following quote:

Yes, Dan’l Webster’s dead – or, at least, they buried him. But every time there’s a thunderstorm around Marshfield, they say you can hear his rolling voice in the hollows of the sky. And they say that if you go to his grave and speak loud and clear, “Dan’l –  Dan’l Webster!” the ground’ll begin to shiver and the trees begin to shake. And after awhile you’ll hear a deep voice saying, “Neighbor, neighbor, how stands the Union?” Then you better answer, “The Union stands as she stood – oak-bottomed and copper-sheathed, one and indivisible!” or he’s liable to rear right out of the ground.

Daniel Webster (January 18, 1782 – October 24, 1852) was a leading American Statesman, Senator and prominent conservative from Massachusetts during the period leading up to the Civil War. He served 29 years in the Congress and as Secretary of State for three presidents. How would We the People answer his supposed query from the grave today? How would we respond to, “Neighbor, neighbor, how stands the Union?” Could we truthfully answer, “The Union stands as she stood – oak-bottom and copper-sheathed, one and indivisible?!” I think not. Is the Congresses POOR Public Rating Justified?

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

There is no doubt, at least in this writers mind, that the low public rating of Congress is justified. However, let us do a little analysis to see if ALL the Senators and House members deserve these low ratings. Yes, I know, I hear that all the 535 members need to be thrown out.

The common compliant that I hear is that they are not working together and getting legislation passed. So let us look at the first 2 years of Obama’s term. The Democrats had control of the White House, Senate and the House. Let us see, there has not been a Federal Budget in over 1000 days, which would include the first two years. Therefore, it seems that Obama cannot even get his own party (more…)

The Quote of the Decade

Thursday, January 26th, 2012

By Senator Barack H. Obama, March 2006

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America ‘s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America ‘s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, “the buck stops here.’ Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”

(…it was so nice of him to give us this great quote for posterity!)

It’s Bush’s Fault

Tuesday, December 27th, 2011

The day the Democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009, it was actually January 3rd 2007, the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start of the 110th Congress. The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is “Bush’s Fault”, think about this: January 3rd, 2007, the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:

The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
The Unemployment rate was 4.6%
George Bush’s Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION! (more…)

The Debt Ceiling

Tuesday, December 27th, 2011

This is a great analogy.

For those of you with septic tanks it hits home.
Democrats don’t understand THE DEBT CEILING.
Republicans don’t understand THE DEBT CEILING.
Liberals don’t understand THE DEBT CEILING.
Neocons don’t understand THE DEBT CEILING.

Allow me to explain. Let’s say, you come home from work and find there has been a sewer backup in your neighborhood. Your home has sewage all the way up to your ceilings.

What do you think you should do? Raise the ceilings or pump out the poop?

Your choice is coming next November. Don’t miss the opportunity.

‘The Old Paths’

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

By a retired minister

I liked the old paths, when
Moms were at home…
Dads were at work…
Brothers went into the army…
And sisters got
married BEFORE having children!!!
Crime did not pay; Hard work did;
And people knew the difference…

Moms could cook;
Dads would work;
Children would behave…
Husbands were loving;
Wives were supportive;
And children were polite…
Women wore (more…)

NOVEMBER 19, 2011

We used to make things here in Wisconsin.

We made machine tools in Milwaukee, cars in Kenosha and ships in Sheboygan. We mined iron in the north and lead in the south. We made cheese, we made brats, we made beer, and we even made napkins to clean up what we spilled. And we made money.

The original war on poverty was a private, mercenary affair. Men like Harnishfeger, Allis, Chalmers, Kohler, Kearney, Trecker, Modine, Case, Mead, Falk, Allen, Bradley, Cutler, Hammer, Bucyrus, Harley, Davidson, Pabst, and Miller lifted millions up from subsistence living to middle class comfort. They did it – not “Fighting Bob” La Follette or any of the politicians who came along later to take the credit and rake a piece of the action through the steepest progressive scheme in the nation.

Those old geezers with the beards cured poverty by (more…)
