Upside-Down Land

Thursday, May 3rd, 2012

You know you live in an Upside-down Land if…

1. A Muslim officer crying “Allah Akbar” while shooting up an army base is considered to have committed “Workplace Violence” while an American citizen boasting a Ron Paul bumper sticker is classified as a “Domestic Terrorist”.

2. You can get arrested for expired tags on your car but not for being in the country illegally.

3. Your government believes that the best way to eradicate trillions of dollars of debt is to spend trillions more of our money.

4. A seven year old boy can be thrown out of school for calling his teacher “cute” but hosting a sexual exploration or diversity class in grade school is perfectly acceptable.

5. The Supreme Court of the United States can rule that lower courts cannot display the 10 Commandments in their courtroom, while sitting in front of a display of the 10 Commandments.

6. Children are forcibly removed from parents who appropriately discipline them while (more…)

The Closure of the U.S. Oil Refinery Industry in the Past 2 Years

Thursday, May 3rd, 2012

By Paul Galyean

In 2010, there were 149 operable U.S. refineries with a combined capacity of 17.6 million barrels (2,800,000) per day. Something odd started happening in late 2010-early 2011. The US oil refinery industry quietly announced the closure of numerous US oil refineries. Many are completely unaware the US ships oil overseas to be processed. We do so as we do not have enough refineries to process the vast amounts here, and we are barred from building anymore refineries. All refineries perform three basic steps: separation, conversion, and treatment. Pretty simple.

Several reasons include technical and economic factors as to why we ship it overseas to be processed.

1. The crude petroleum is sold to the highest bidder, NOT the nearest bidder.

2. There are different kinds of crude oil, such as sweet/light and dark/heavy. They have different applications and uses.

3. Different kinds of refining processes are needed to make different products from the crude oil. Petroleum is processed to make lots of products other than gasoline, like plastics and asphalt.

4. Politics, unions and the “environmentalists”.

How many of you are aware Sunoco, Conoco Phillips and The HESS Corp are all closing US oil refineries?

Not many, as the media refuses to give this HUGE story coverage. My guess is that if Americans understood (more…)

http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/BILLS-112hr347enr/pdf/BILLS-112hr347enr.pdf

The House passed H.R. 347 with a vote of 399 to 3.
The Senate passed S. 1794 by “Unanimous Consent.”
President Obama signed it into law on 9 March 2012

Representative Justin Amash, R-Michigan, explains this change by saying: ” The bill expands current law to make it a crime to enter or remain in an area where an official is visiting even if the person does not know it’s illegal to be in that area and has no reason to suspect its illegal.”

Occupy DC protesters are calling the modifications an infringement on their First Amendment rights, because of the areas of D.C. that have been added to the protected areas portion of the act. Approximately 80 protesters organized a silent march to symbolize their Freedom of Speech being taken away-some even taped their mouths closed to visually show their feelings about the bill. The part of the Bill of Rights they are referring to is the following: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Michael Mahaffey, Representative Tom Rooney’s (R-Fla. and the man responsible for introducing the bill to the House) communication director dismissed concerns that the bill violates civil liberties by saying, that the protests against H.R. 347 are, “a whole lot of kerfuffle over nothing. This (HR 347) doesn’t affect anyone’s right to protest anywhere at any time. Ever ” He went on to say that, “. right now it’s not a federal violation to jump the fence and run across the White House lawn, this bill makes it a federal violation.”

Constitutional Government and Mormonism

Throughout the Republican Presidential Primary race, much has been said about the Mormons and in particular about certain Christians, particularly Evangelical Christians, not being able to support a Mormon candidate. Their reasoning seems to stem primarily from their perception that Mormons are NOT Christians. These folks might be interested in knowing that I heard recently on Fox News that there are currently 30 Members of Congress who are professing Mormons.

Little or no coverage has been given by the media as to what the Mormon’s believe concerning government. For that reason I thought it might be good to do an Internet search on what Mormons believe concerning government. In this effort, the reader should be aware that I am NOT a spokesperson for the Mormon church or as they prefer The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, everything quoted here can be verified on their official website www.lds.org and/or en.wikipedia.org.

Most churches have available on-line a basic statement of their beliefs. Whether you agree with the following is not the issue. What I am endeavoring to do is let you know from my on-line searching what Mormons think of our government and our Constitution.

According to Wikipedia, John Wentworth, editor of the Chicago Democrat, wrote a letter and asked (more…)

The November 2012 Election

Many comments and articles have surface that the election this November is arguably the most important election in our nation’s history. Many believe that we are sitting on the precipice of losing our Liberty and the vision of our Founding Fathers who gave us our Constitutional Republic. Many believe that if Barak Obama is re-elected to fulfill the “dreams of his father” that we will be a Welfare Socialist State by the end of his second term in 2016.

I recently posted an article about Dinesh D’Souza at CPAC 2012 on my website. You should look at it. http://www.freedom-fightersforum.org/2012/04/18/dinesh-d%E2%80%99souza-at-cpac-2012/

In our Constitutional Republic we have traditionally held to the two party system – beginning with the Federalists and the Ant-Federalists until today we have (more…)

Dinesh D’Souza at CPAC 2012

Wednesday, April 18th, 2012

President, Kings College

The beginning of this video should be viewed full screen. It is the trailer for the film to be released this Summer entitled “2016″ based upon D’Souza’s Book – The Roots of Obama’s Rage. It is being produced by Gerald R. Molen, the same man who produced Braveheart, Jurassic Park and Shindler’s List. The film itself is about Obama’s Dream for America or in reality “Dreams from my Father” about the demise of colonialism.

The Trailer is followed by his CPAC 2012 speech. It is just over 14 minutes.

Who Supports Our Veterans?

Wednesday, April 18th, 2012

Published in Las Cruses Sun News 4/19/12

Why is it that organizations like Wounded Warriors, Help Hospitalized Veterans, Soldiers’ Angels and a host of other worthwhile veterans care organizations are necessary? Don’t misunderstand. These are wonderful organizations that provide care to our wounded military and veterans who are not receiving the care or support they need or expected when they volunteered to serve this nation. You would think that between the military services and the Veterans Administration our veterans would receive the best possible care. Such is not the case.

At funeral services for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice the survivor’s family is presented the US flag on “behalf of a grateful nation”. Shouldn’t a grateful nation equally insure that the wounded receive appropriate care? Shouldn’t they, and their families, receive the best possible medical care, counseling, and support they so richly deserve? If this were the case the need for these charitable organizations would not be necessary.

In a recent article by Col. Steve Strobridge, USAF (Ret) revealing Obama administration discussions over the long-term costs of war, one sentence jumped out at him. It cited an “unfunded liability” of $1.3 trillion to provide future (more…)
