CONGRESSIONAL TERM LIMITS

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011

William J. Dell
Amore Dei, Familiae, Patriae ducit !

I receive a lot of Email about Congressional Term Limits. It is NOT likely that the present Members of Congress will limit their own terms. The best We the People can hope for is to limit the terms of future persons running for Congress.

This is a sample of a Constitutional Amendment that I think We the People might be able to get through the Congress, provided we have enough Statesmen serving. It doesn’t fix the problem immediately, but it would (more…)

Beware of Article 5 – Understanding a Con-Con

Thursday, October 7th, 2010

By William J. Dell

There have been many emails circulating on the Internet calling for a constitutional convention to propose amendments to our Constitution that Congress will NOT propose. There are hazards to this process guaranteed by Article 5 of our Constitution. History suggest the validity of the concerns expressed in the following video. After all, as pointed out, the first Constitutional Convention was only AUTHORIZED to amend the Articles of Confederation – BUT THEY DID MUCH MORE! There is NO Guarantee that any Constitutional Convention would be limited to particular interests as 32 States currently would like. Once the floodgate is opened, the Ship of State will be in great peril. Remember well that even the unsinkable Titanic – SANK!!

I personally do NOT believe that delegates to ANY new Constitutional Convention would be as reasoned or have the best interests of our nation at heart as our Founding Fathers did. You ask why? It is because in 1787, we had STATESMEN at the Constitutional Convention! Unfortunately – TODAY we would have only POLITICIANS, who by characteristic (more…)

Let’s Set the Record Straight!!!

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

The day the Democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009 – it was actually January 3rd 2007. The day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and Senate, the start of the 110th Congress. The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

For those of you who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is “Bush’s Fault,” think about this: January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:

At the time: The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
The Unemployment rate was 4.6% George Bush’s Economic policies
SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!

Remember the day.

January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank (more…)

The Lawyers’ Party

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

By Bruce Walker

The Democratic Party has become the Lawyers Party.
Barack Obama is a lawyer. Michelle Obama is a lawyer.
Hillary Clinton is a lawyer. Bill Clinton is a lawyer.
John Edwards is a lawyer. Elizabeth Edwards is a lawyer.
Every Democrat nominee since 1984 went to law school (although Gore did not graduate). Every Democrat vice presidential nominee since 1976, except for Lloyd Bentsen, went to law school.
Look at leaders of the Democrat Party in Congress:
Harry Reid is a lawyer. Nancy Pelosi is a lawyer.

The Republican Party is different.
President Bush is a businessman.
Vice President Cheney is a businessman.
The leaders of the Republican Revolution: (more…)

The Battle Belongs to the Lord

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

By William J. Dell

It is the year of our Lord Two Thousand Ten and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred thirty-fourth. Today there are many within our nation who fear that our Constitutional Republic established by God through our Founding Fathers is being destroyed by the very people sworn to protect it. Perhaps We the People need to be reminded of two adages with regards to our struggle to preserve our Constitutional Republic: “Let us work as if everything depends on us, and pray as if everything depends on God,” and “Let us have faith that right makes might, and in that faith, let us, to the end, dare to do our duty as we understand it.” – Abraham Lincoln

Beginning in the early twentieth century, there emerged a new body politic that adopted progressive ideals which are not in keeping with the constitutional principles that made our country great and the beacon of hope in a world of darkness. It is a body politic that refuses to honor their sworn duty to protect and defend our Divinely inspired Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. In fact, this body politic has become our Constitution’s most aggressive and deadly domestic enemy as they strive to change our Constitutional Republic into a Welfare Socialist State.

You may ask, “Who are these politicians?” (more…)

War on Terror and Carbon Emissions

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

By Mark Beres, Maj. USAF (ret.)
Tucson, Arizona

Nobody can be this stupid and still be compatible with life!

You will simply not believe this. Our 8th District US Congressional representative, the Hon. Gabrielle Giffords, in a meeting of the House Armed Services Committee, asked General David Petraeus the following question: “General Petraeus, what are you doing to reduce carbon emissions in the war on terror?”

Wow. I had to read, and re-read this several times to believe it. Folks, there are American sons and daughters dying every week on the foreign battlefields of southwest Asia. The nation is completely bankrupt and … quite literally, borrowing 43 cents for every dollar in federal spending. We have the largest environmental disaster in the nation’s history in the Gulf of Mexico, and we have Mexican drug armies invading our nation. And yet …. A member of Congress from Arizona’s 8th congressional district took the time to ask our battlefield commander what he is doing to curb carbon emissions in the war.

Gabrielle Giffords is the poster-child for what is wrong with the US Congress. We are being led by imbeciles. To the rest of America reading this blog, and to Gen. Petraeus if this e-mail makes it to your inbox … my sincerest apologies for the stupid question asked of you by my US congressional representative. General … I am sure you have better things to worry about than carbon emissions on the battlefield. I assure you, as a registered voter in Arizona’s 8th congressional district, I will do everything I can to ensure Rep. Giffords is voted out of office in November, and I pray you’ll get back to business of fighting the war on terror without worrying about such petty and nonsensical matters as your carbon footprint in the war.

Dr. Suess and Uncle Sam

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

If T. Geisel were alive…

I do not like this Uncle Sam,
I do not like his health care scam.
I do not like these dirty crooks,
or how they lie and cook the books.
I do not like when Congress steals,
I do not like their secret deals.
I do not like this speaker Nan,
I do not like this ‘YES WE CAN’.
I do not like this spending spree,
I’m smart, I know that nothing’s free,
I do not like your smug replies,
when I complain about your lies.
I do not like this kind of hope.
I do not like it. nope, nope, nope!

Many Fronts As The War Goes On

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

By William J Dell

The book of Revelation indicates that before the Creation there was a war in Heaven and that Michael expelled Satan along with one-third of the host of Heaven for rebelling against God and the Lamb. In the twelfth chapter, John expands on this and indicates that Satan continues this war here on the earth. From the Scriptures, it would appear that, in the eyes of God, there are only two churches on the earth: The one is the Christian Church, the true followers of Christ regardless of denomination; and, the other is the church of the devil, which is made up of ALL organizations; whether political, philosophical, educational, economic, social, fraternal, civic, or religious; those organizations whose principles lead away from God and His laws or oppose Christ and the teachings of His Gospel.

As the world heads pell-mell toward the final Battle of Armageddon, Satan has been and is consolidating his forces. He is doing this on many fronts through his many minions. He is attacking the traditional family. He is attacking self-reliance. He is attacking the inalienable rights of man granted by God. He is attacking the foundations of our Divinely inspired Constitutional Republic. He is attacking every Judeo-Christian principle upon which our nation was founded and that has been the basis of every moral society and civilization since Moses received the Decalogue on Mount Sinai.

Satan’s church on the earth has had many faces throughout history. For much off our lifetime (more…)

The Tyranny of the Progressive Movement

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

By William J. Dell – 23 June 2010

J. Reuben Clark, Jr. Was a distinguished Jurist and Constitutionalist. He served as a Solicitor for the Department of State, as an Under Secretary of State, and as Ambassador to Mexico. The following is a quote of his that ALL freedom-loving Americans should take to heart. How aptly he described the Progressive Movement and its efforts to destroy our Divinely inspired Constitution during the past 100 years.

Tyranny has never come to live with any people with a placard on his breast bearing his name. He always comes in deep disguise, sometimes proclaiming an endowment of freedom, sometimes promising help to the unfortunate and downtrodden, not by creating something for those who do not have, but by robbing those who have. But Tyranny is always a wolf in sheep’s clothing, and he always ends by devouring the whole flock, saving none. [J. Rueben Clark, Jr., “Inroads upon the Constitution by the Roman Law”]

During the past 100 years the proponents of the Progressive Movement, in both parties, have truly been ‘wolves in sheep’s clothing’ as they have (more…)

A Little Term Limit History

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

By William J. Dell – 13 April 2010

I am personally in favor of Term Limits on the members of Congress much like the term limit on the President. The difficulty, as you will read below, is having two-thirds of the House and Senate voting for them. It is difficult to get ANY politician to vote to end their career after twelve years. It might happen if we were to clean house in November of the Progressive incumbents who desire to retain power and replace the Constitutional Republic with a Welfare Socialist State.

In the elections of 1994, part of the Contract on America was to pass legislation setting term limits in Congress. After winning the majority, they brought a constitutional amendment to the House floor that limited members of the Senate to two six-year terms and members of the House (more…)
