Not Yours To Give

Wednesday, February 29th, 2012

In the early 1800′s Congress was considering a bill to appropriate tax dollars for the widow of a distinguished naval officer. Several beautiful speeches had been made in support of this bill. It seemed that everyone in the House favored it. The Speaker of the House was just about to put the question to a vote, when Davy Crockett, famous frontiersman and then Congressman from Tennessee, rose to his feet.

“Mr. Speaker, I have as much respect for the memory of the deceased and as much sympathy for the suffering of the living as any man in this House, but we must not permit our respect for the dead or our sympathy for a part of the living to lead us into an act of injustice to the balance of the living. I will not go into an argument to prove that Congress has no power to appropriate this money (more…)

Evaluating Our Candidates – Saving Our Constitutional Republic

We the People are arguably facing the most important election this November 2012 that we have ever faced in the history of our Constitutional Republic. Perhaps you would consider asking your candidate(s) the following as you evaluate whom you should vote for.

Should you be elected this November to the Congress or the Presidency, you will be required to take an oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” Over the past 100 years, the greatest “domestic enemy” to our Constitutional Republic has been the federal government itself. “To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid” nation:

1. We the People have seen the federal government intrude into the internal affairs of the several sovereign States rather than (more…)

SOCIAL SECURITY NOW CALLED ‘FEDERAL BENEFIT PAYMENT’

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

Have you noticed, your Social Security check is now referred to as a “federal benefit payment”? Our government gets away with way too much in all areas of our lives, while they live lavishly on their grossly overpaid incomes!

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT THE ONLY THING WRONG WITH THIS CALCULATION IS THEY FORGOT TO FIGURE IN THE PEOPLE WHO DIED BEFORE THEY COLLECTED THEIR SOCIAL SECURITY!!!! WHERE DID THAT MONEY GO?

This was sent to me, I am posting it because it does touch a nerve in me. This is another example of what Rick Perry called “TREASON in high places”!

Remember, not only did you contribute to Social Security but your employer did too. It totaled 15% of your income before taxes. If you averaged only $30K over your working life, that’s close to $220,500.

If you calculate the future value of $4,500 per year (yours & your employer’s contribution) at a simple 5% (less than what the government pays on the money that it borrows), after 49 years of working (more…)

Government & Society

By Matt Patterson (columnist – Washington Post, New York Post, San Francisco Examiner)

Washington Post on Obama. It is amazing that the Washington Post would actually print this about Obama.

Note: This is a rather unusual piece to find in the Washington Post. No intent here to be ‘political’ but the president’s climb to the White House certainly smacks of being highly engineered. In addition to those fearful of being called racists and those who have always been for the racial underdog, such are the comments from our air-head folks, that Obama was ‘cool’ as their reason for voting for him. Mike

Years from now, historians may regard the 2008 election of Barack Obama as an inscrutable and disturbing phenomenon, the result of a baffling breed of mass hysteria akin perhaps to the witch craze of the Middle Ages. How, they will wonder, did a man so devoid of professional accomplishment beguile so many into thinking he could manage the world’s largest economy, direct the world’s most powerful military, execute the world’s most consequential job?

Imagine a future historian examining Obama’s pre-presidential life: ushered into and through the Ivy League despite unremarkable grades and (more…)

ObamaCare and Home Sales

Thursday, February 16th, 2012

This is a MUST read! What if you are forced to sell?

ATTENTION ALL HOMEOWNERS!!

BIG QUESTION FOR REALTORS IS: “WILL WE BE ABLE TO SELL A HOUSE after 2012 if nothing is done?”

The National Association of REALTORS is all over this and working to get it repealed, before it takes effect. But, I am very pleased we aren’t the only ones who know about this ploy to steal billions from unsuspecting homeowners. How many REALTORS do you think will vote Democratic in 2012?

Did you know that if you sell your house after 2012 you will pay a 3.8% sales tax on it? That’s $3,800 on a $100,000 home, etc. When did this happen? It’s in the health care bill and goes into effect in 2013. Why 2013? Could it be that it is intended to come to light AFTER the 2012 elections? So, this is “change you can believe in”?

Under the new health care bill all real estate transactions will be subject to a 3.8% Sales Tax. If you sell a $400,000 home, there will be a $15,200 tax. This bill is set to screw the retiring generation who often downsize their homes. Does this make your November and 2012 vote more important?

If you weren’t aware this was in the ObamaCare bill, guess what, you aren’t alone. There are more than a few members of Congress that aren’t aware of it
either

On the Occupy Wall Street Movement

Thursday, February 16th, 2012

By Dr. Thomas Sowell

“The current Occupy Wall Street movement is the best illustration to date of what President Barack Obama’s America looks like. It is an America where the lawless, unaccomplished, ignorant and incompetent rule. It is an America where those who have sacrificed nothing pillage and destroy the lives of those who have sacrificed greatly.

“It is an America where history is rewritten to honor dictators, murderers and thieves. It is an America where violence, racism, hatred, class warfare and murder are all promoted as acceptable means of overturning the American civil society.

“It is an America where humans have been degraded (more…)

Neighbor, How Stands the Union [Our Constitutional Republic]?

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

Our Founding Fathers stated in the Preamble of our Constitution that one of its purposes was to “secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.” In 1937, Stephen Vincent Benét wrote a short story called The Devil and Daniel Webster. From it I have taken the following quote:

Yes, Dan’l Webster’s dead – or, at least, they buried him. But every time there’s a thunderstorm around Marshfield, they say you can hear his rolling voice in the hollows of the sky. And they say that if you go to his grave and speak loud and clear, “Dan’l –  Dan’l Webster!” the ground’ll begin to shiver and the trees begin to shake. And after awhile you’ll hear a deep voice saying, “Neighbor, neighbor, how stands the Union?” Then you better answer, “The Union stands as she stood – oak-bottomed and copper-sheathed, one and indivisible!” or he’s liable to rear right out of the ground.

Daniel Webster (January 18, 1782 – October 24, 1852) was a leading American Statesman, Senator and prominent conservative from Massachusetts during the period leading up to the Civil War. He served 29 years in the Congress and as Secretary of State for three presidents. How would We the People answer his supposed query from the grave today? How would we respond to, “Neighbor, neighbor, how stands the Union?” Could we truthfully answer, “The Union stands as she stood – oak-bottom and copper-sheathed, one and indivisible?!” I think not. Can you tell the difference?

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

The following youtube clip show the State of the Union 2010, 2011, 2012.

Remember that game we used to play as kids where we looked at two pictures and tried to find the difference? Watch this clip of the state of the union and see if you can determine any difference in the rhetoric. Keep the tie the same, add a little Grecian Formula to the hair, and these clips could have been filmed on the same day!! Remember, Lenin also stuck to the same party line in every speech. (Alisnky’s rules for Radicals???)

The Commerce Clause

Thursday, January 26th, 2012

By William J. Dell

Article I. Section 8. of our Constitution has a clause which has become known as the “Commerce Clause.” This clause states that the Congress shall have power – “To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes.” [Emphasis added.] The effect of this clause is a grant of power to the federal government by We the People to regulate inter-state commerce between or “among the several States” but NOT intra-state commerce since intra-state commerce is contained within the boundary of a single State. This coupled with the Tenth Amendment which states, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people” has been a powerful check on the federal government’s intrusion into We the People’s private and personal business affairs.

An understanding of the Commerce Clause is very important for We the People. This is particularly true in the case of healthcare. The Affordable Health Care for America Act (ObamaCare) is presently before the Supreme Court. Many believe, including twenty-six States Attorney Generals, that ObamaCare violates the Commerce Clause as it requires individual citizens to purchase health insurance. This writer agrees with the States Attorney Generals’ position as explained in the following.

Regulation of insurance has always been a States Right. Each of the several States have their own (more…)
