Hurrah for North Carolina! North Carolina joined three other States [FL, OH and VA] yesterday by passing an amendment to their State Constitution “to provide that marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid and recognized in this State.” This recognition and support of natural law and God’s Law in defense of traditional marriage and the family are to be commended.

As the attack on the Family and the “Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA)” continues the adoption of State by State Constitutional Amendments may be the only way that Family and Traditional Marriage can be protected. The views of Progressives, politicians and others, and the Gay/Lesbian Rights Movement on “same-sex unions” do nothing to support or perpetuate our civil society or our Constitutional Republic. The logical conclusion of a society or nation of same-sex unions without any heterosexual activity is the death of that society or nation. This is why traditional marriage and family should be legally protected within our Constitutional Republic.

We, as a nation, cannot continue to reject the moral compass of our Founding Fathers, the Judeo-Christian principles upon which our Constitutional Republic was founded, and expect to survive as a nation. There is a maxim oft quoted from Albert Einstein concerning Insanity — “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” The opposite is also true! If we, as a nation, want to return to the success of our ancestors, to restore our place in the world as the greatest Republic ever known, the beacon of Liberty, and the hope of ALL the oppressed living in socialist madness, we must to do the same things over and over again that our Founding Fathers and ancestors did. We must recognize their moral compass, teach it to our posterity, and follow it as they did. History has shown that neither an individual nor a nation can get ahead by leaving God behind.

Our Constitutional Republic !

All the Democrats smiled.
‘Fairness’ had been established.
Individual initiative had died but nobody noticed; perhaps no one cared so long as there was free bread that ‘the rich’ were paying for.

EPILOGUE

Bill Clinton is getting $12 million for his memoirs.
Hillary got $8 million for hers.
That’s $20 million for the memories from two people, who for eight years repeatedly testified, under oath, that they couldn’t remember anything.

Years from now, historians may regard the 2008 election of Barack Obama as an inscrutable and disturbing phenomenon, the result of a baffling breed of mass hysteria akin perhaps to the witch craze of the Middle Ages. How, they will wonder, did a man so devoid of professional accomplishment beguile so many into thinking he could manage the world’s largest economy, direct the world’s most powerful military, execute the world’s most consequential job? Imagine a future historian examining Obama’s pre-presidential life: ushered into and through the Ivy League despite unremarkable grades and test scores along the way; a cushy non-job as a “community organizer”; a brief career as a state legislator devoid of legislative achievement (and in fact nearly devoid of his attention, so often did he vote “present”) ; and finally an unaccomplished single term in the United States Senate, the entirety of which was devoted to his presidential ambitions.

He left no academic legacy in academia, authored no signature legislation as a legislator. And then there is the matter of his troubling associations: the white-hating, America-loathing preacher who for decades served as Obama’s “spiritual mentor”; a real-life, actual terrorist who served as Obama’s colleague and political sponsor. It is easy to imagine a future historian looking at it all and asking: how on Earth was such a man elected president?

Not content to wait for history, the incomparable Norman Podhoretz addressed the question recently in the Wall Street Journal: To be sure, no white candidate who had close associations with an outspoken hater of America like Jeremiah Wright and an unrepentant terrorist like Bill Ayers, would have lasted a single day. But because Mr. Obama was black, and therefore entitled in the eyes of liberaldom to have hung out with protesters against various American injustices, even if they were a bit extreme, he was given a pass. Let that sink in: Obama was given a pass – held to a lower standard – because of the color of his skin. Podhoretz continues: And in any case, what did such ancient history matter when he was also so articulate and elegant and (as he himself had said) “non-threatening,” all of which gave him a fighting chance to become the first black president and thereby to lay the curse of racism to rest?

Podhoretz puts his finger, I think, on the animating pulse of the Obama phenomenon -affirmative action. Not in the legal sense, of course. But certainly in the motivating sentiment behind all affirmative action laws and regulations, which are designed primarily to make white people, and especially white liberals, feel good about themselves

Unfortunately, minorities often suffer so that whites can pat themselves on the back. Liberals routinely admit minorities to schools for which they are not qualified, yet take no responsibility for the inevitable poor performance and high drop-out rates which follow. Liberals don’t care if these minority students fail; liberals aren’t around to witness the emotional devastation and deflated self esteem resulting from the racist policy that is affirmative action. Yes, racist. Holding someone to a separate standard merely because of the color of his skin – that’s affirmative action in a nutshell, and if that isn’t racism, then nothing is.

And that is what America did to Obama. True, Obama himself was never troubled by his lack of achievements, but why would he be? As many have noted, Obama was told he was good enough for Columbia despite undistinguished grades at Occidental; he was told he was good enough for the US Senate despite a mediocre record in Illinois ; he was told he was ood enough to be president despite no record at all in the Senate. All his life, every step of the way, Obama was told he was good enough for the next step, in spite of ample evidence to the contrary.

What could this breed if not the sort of empty narcissism on display every time Obama speaks? In 2008, many who agreed that he lacked executive qualifications nonetheless raved about Obama’s oratory skills, intellect, and cool character. Those people – conservatives included – ought now to be deeply embarrassed.

The man thinks and speaks in the hoariest of cliches, and that’s when he has his teleprompter in front of him; when the prompter is absent he can barely think or speak at all.

Not one original idea has ever issued from his mouth – it’s all warmed-over Marxism of the kind that has failed over and over again for 100 years.

And what about his character? Obama is constantly blaming anything and everything else for his troubles. Bush did it; it was bad luck; I inherited this mess. It is embarrassing to see a president so willing to advertise his own powerlessness, so comfortable with his own incompetence.

But really, what were we to expect? The man has never been responsible for anything, so how do we expect him to act responsibly?

In short: our president is a small and small-minded man, with neither the temperament nor the intellect to handle his job.

When you understand that, and only when you understand that, will the current erosion  of liberty and prosperity make sense. It could not have gone otherwise with such a man in the Oval Office.

This is what our beloved president Obama has done in 2012 for America so far this year. This got very little press to keep it unknown from the American public. Why is he getting away with all of this?

This Feb. 16, 2012 article appears in very few places. Apparently, mainstream media consider Obama giving away islands belonging to Alaska as no big deal. Obama is giving these islands to Russia for free, no cost, $0 money or any other consideration. Guess what? The state legislature in Alaska (still one of our 50 states) voted several times in opposition to THE GIVEAWAY! The islands have billions of barrels of OIL and Obama could let oil companies lease parts of the islands and start drilling for MORE OIL!! Should you suspect Obama was trying to sneak this by……..? Why?

The seven islands in the Arctic Ocean and Bering Sea include one the size of Rhode Island and Delaware combined. The Russians are also to get the tens of thousands of square miles of oil-rich seabed’s surrounding the islands. The Department of Interior estimates billions of barrels of oil are at stake.

The State Department has undertaken the giveaway in the guise of a maritime boundary agreement between Alaska and Siberia. Astoundingly, our federal government itself drew the line to put these seven Alaskan islands on the Russian side. But as an executive agreement, it could be reversed with the stroke of a pen by President Obama or Secretary Clinton. The agreement was negotiated in total secrecy. The state of Alaska was not allowed to participate in the negotiations, nor was the public given any opportunity for comment. This is despite the fact the Alaska Legislature has passed resolutions of opposition – but the State Department doesn’t seem to care.

The imperiled Arctic Ocean islands include Wrangel, Bennett, Jeannette and Henrietta. Wrangel became American in 1881 with the landing of the U.S. Revenue Marine ship Thomas Corwin. The landing party included the famed naturalist John Muir. It is 3,000 square miles in size.

Northwest of Wrangel are the DeLong Islands, named for George Washington DeLong, the captain of USS Jeannette. Also in 1881, he discovered and claimed these three islands for the United States. He named them for the voyage co-sponsor, New York City newspaper publisher James Gordon Bennett. The ship’s crew received a hero’s welcome back in Washington, and Congress awarded them gold medals.

In the Bering Sea at the far west end of the Aleutian chain are Copper Island, Sea Lion Rock and Sea Otter Rock. They were ceded to the U.S. in Seward’s 1867 treaty with Russia.

Now is the time for the Obama administration to stand up for U.S. and Alaskan rights and invaluable resources. The State Department’s maritime agreement is a loser – it gives us nothing in return for giving up Alaska’s sovereign territory and invaluable resources. In an effort to restore the covenant our Founders made with God, that He will be our God and we will be His people, there is an open invitation towards all people to dedicate May 17th as a day of humiliation, fasting, and prayer for our forgiveness as individuals and as a people and to seek God’s grace and light to bless our nation.

In March of 1776, the Second Continental Congress dedicated March 17th of that year as a day of humiliation, fasting, and prayer for that specific purpose. To prepare themselves for the American Revolution and to ask for God’s aid in protection from the British. They did this that “we may, with united hearts, confess and bewail our manifold sins and transgressions, and, by a sincere repentance and amendment of life, appease his righteous displeasure, and, through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ, obtain his pardon and forgiveness; humbly imploring his assistance to frustrate the cruel purposes of our unnatural enemies; and by inclining their hearts to justice and benevolence, prevent the further effusion of kindred blood.”

Only Months afterwards, they signed the Declaration of Independence, separating ourselves from Great Britain forever, and went down the road to establish a Free Republic.

With all of my heart, I invite you to mark May 17th on your calendar as a day of humiliation, fasting, and prayer. I encourage you to spread the word online and in your Churches. The problems facing our nation are too great for any one President to repair. But God can do all things.

We are a proud nation. We need to humble ourselves, or God will make us humble. That’s the only way our problems can be fixed. Please join me.

Democracy….an interesting view into history

In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior:

“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship.”

“The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage.”

With all the noise the media is making about Romney’s wealth, I don’t recall such bluster and hand-wringing over the Kennedy fortune. Or, for that matter, John Kerry. Or the fact that John Kerry gave virtually nothing to charity while Romney gave something on the order of $4 million…in addition to his entire inheritance from his father.

Oh. Wait. I just remembered. Romney is Republican. Kerry and the Kennedys are Democrats. Also, Romney worked for his money. Kennedy inherited his. And Kerry married it.

Never mind. Nothing to see here folks. Move along.

Once there were four patriots who lived side by side. Their names were Fred Somebody, Thomas Everybody, Pete Anybody and Joe Nobody. They were not like you and me. They were very odd people indeed and it was hard to understand them. The way they cared about their Liberty and Freedoms was a shame and Everybody knew it.

It seems that Everybody was too busy with work to be concerned about the government. Somebody was usually busy following major league and college sports. Anybody was busily involved with watching reality TV and his recreational activities and just couldn’t be bothered. So, Nobody got involved.

Throughout the nation people were needed to work on the issues of Liberty and Freedom. Everybody thought that Anybody would have the time but Somebody wouldn’t do it. So guess who finally did it? That’s right Nobody!

There was an important meeting to attend because an unpopular [City, County, State or National] issue was on the agenda. Everybody knew it was his responsibility to attend and Anybody knew that Somebody would go but Nobody went. Somebody got angry afterwards because it was Everybody’s responsibility to attend, and Everybody got angry because Anybody didn’t go when the unpopular issued passed. Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody attended the meeting that Anybody could attend.

It seemed like Nobody was the only true Patriot among the four. Nobody followed the issues. Nobody emailed and wrote his Legislators, Representatives and Senators. Nobody supported the Veterans. Nobody was involved with organizations that supported God – Family – Country. Nobody got out to vote for every election. In fact, everything important to the cause of Liberty and the preservation of our Constitutional Republic — Nobody did it.

All four of these bodies belonged to the same civic-minded organization and political party. Everybody stayed home from the meetings and rallies. Anybody didn’t go to the Caucasus and Conventions because he just knew that there wasn’t Somebody there to be friendly and speak to just Anybody. So Nobody supported the efforts of the organization, the party and its candidates.

It really wasn’t a very pleasant place to live as the Liberty and Freedom they had inherited from their Founding Fathers and ancestors deteriorated throughout their nation. I sure don’t think that you would enjoy living under the evolving Socialist government. There was a time when Everybody supported the Constitution and the God given unalienable rights of man to Life, Liberty and Property. But, Somebody wanted power over We the People. Anybody could see the loss of individual Freedoms and States Rights guaranteed by our Bill of Rights which was Everybody’s responsibility to protect. But, Nobody was concerned enough to be involved in Liberty’s preservation and Freedom was lost.

Now it came to pass that the most important election in the history of the nation was upon them. Everybody knew they needed to be involved and to vote but Somebody thought that his involvement didn’t matter and his vote didn’t count. Anybody should have been involved and voted but they thought Somebody would. Somebody didn’t! So who saved our Constitutional Republic? Oh! You’re ahead of me — Nobody!

So now, my fellow Patriots, it is apparent what needs to be done. Let’s get Everybody involved in the preservation of Liberty and our Constitutional Republic. Anybody can choose to do something in Somebody’s organization so that Nobody is excluded. It is only when Everybody is involved and votes that we can with a firm reliance on the Divine Providence hope to “secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.”

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” [2 Chronicles 7:14]
