My Heart Cries for America
To ALL My Posterity –
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. [Psalms 33:12]
My heart cries out for our nation and the freedoms that we hold so dear. I have been pondering, of late, just how long does our nation have? We have been in steady decline since the removal of prayer in our schools and the conception of “The Great Society.” We, as a nation, have been, and continue to be, carefully led down to Hell as the ACLU, the Secular Humanists, and ALL those who would destroy agency, self-reliance and every other vestige of our Judeo-Christian heritage that they can possibly destroy continue their 40 plus years of assault on our nation and the family. How true the maxim, “The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.”
We need to carefully consider the prophecy given to the brother of Jared c. 2200 B.C. concerning this land of America as recorded by Ether in the Book of Mormon:
9 And now, we can behold the decrees of God concerning this land, that it is a land of promise; and whatsoever nation shall possess it shall serve God, or they shall be swept off when the fulness of his wrath shall come upon them. And the fulness of his wrath cometh upon them when they are ripened in iniquity.
10 For behold, this is a land which is choice above all other lands; wherefore he that doth possess it shall serve God or shall be swept off; for it is the everlasting decree of God. And it is not until the fulness of iniquity among the children of the land, that they are swept off.
11 And this cometh unto you, O ye Gentiles, that ye may know the decrees of God—that ye may repent, and not continue in your iniquities until the fulness come, that ye may not bring down the fulness of the wrath of God upon you as the inhabitants of the land have hitherto done.
12 Behold, this is a choice land, and whatsoever nation shall possess it shall be free from bondage, and from captivity, and from all other nations under heaven, if they will but serve the God of the land, who is Jesus Christ, who hath been manifested by the things which we have written. [Ether 2:9-12]
We are in the throws of one of the most perilous elections of our history. We need to be certain that only Statesmen rather than Politicians are elected. So that you might understand, a Statesman is one who is concerned about the welfare of our nation and not his own political ambitions. A Statesman is a freedom-fighter not a fighter of freedom. A Politician is only concerned about his own power and his ability to stay in office to get gain. A Politician is a fighter of freedom, your freedom and my freedom. A Politician is NEVER a freedom-fighter concerned about the freedom of our nation. Regardless of what the Politician says, he is only concerned with his own welfare, his own power, and his own ability to stay in office. He always believes [knows] that he is better able to run your life and use your money than you are. He is always for repressive taxation which destroys the freedom of the governed and subjects them to the bondage [dependency] of the government. A Politician has NO respect for the LIMITATION of power granted to him BY THE PEOPLE in the Tenth Amendment.
You must remember that if you exercise your God-given agency by choosing to be apathetic and NOT to be involved with the election process, you become a “fighter of freedom” by default! Now, two Scriptures before you read a very interesting e-mail I received:
26 Now it is not common that the voice of the people desireth anything contrary to that which is right; but it is common for the lesser part of the people to desire that which is not right; therefore this shall ye observe and make it your law—to do your business by the voice of the people.
27 And if the time comes that the voice of the people doth choose iniquity, then is the time that the judgments of God will come upon you; yea, then is the time he will visit you with great destruction even as he has hitherto visited this land. [Mosiah 29:26-27]8 I, the Lord God, make you free, therefore ye are free indeed; and the law also maketh you free.
9 Nevertheless, when the wicked rule the people mourn.
10 Wherefore, honest men and wise men should be sought for diligently, and good men and wise men ye should observe to uphold; otherwise whatsoever is less than these cometh of evil. [D&C 98:8-10, emphasis added]
I have always heard about this democracy countdown. It is interesting and most disconcerting however when one sees it in print.

About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:
‘A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.’
‘A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.’
‘From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.’
‘The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years’
‘During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:
1. From bondage to spiritual faith;
2. From spiritual faith to great courage;
3. From courage to liberty;
4. From liberty to abundance;
5. From abundance to complacency;
6. From complacency to apathy;
7. From apathy to dependence;
8. From dependence back into bondage’
Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul , Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:
Number of States won by: Gore: 19 Bush: 29
Square miles of land won by: Gore: 580,000 Bush: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Gore: 127 million Bush: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Gore: 13.2 Bush: 2.1
Professor Olson adds: ‘In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country. Gore’s territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare…’ [All the vestiges of the Great Society.] Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the ‘complacency and apathy’ phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation’s population already having reached the ‘governmental dependency’ phase.End Quote.
The “Great Society,” or the government welfare system, in ALL its forms, is the opposite of the Lord’s plan for helping the poor and needy. Government officials continue to visit Welfare Square to study the Welfare Services of the Lord’s Church to see how it is done, but they keep going away forgetting that the Lord’s Plan is based on “self-reliance.” They forget that the individual is responsible for his own welfare, first. He then is to rely on his extended family before he turns to the Church for assistance. They continue to cling to the idea that we, the government, have to care for all these people, without regard to their personal self-reliance, and in so doing they are creating the very “governmental dependency” that leads us to self destruction as a nation.
“Earmarks” [generous gifts from the public treasury], or the pet projects of our Politicians, are yet another destructive policy of the Congress. These are appropriation amendments added to bills that get paid for out of our tax revenues but have no relationship whatever to the bill they are attached. Consequently the President has to either veto the justifiable expenditure or sign off on the “earmarks” to fund the justifiable expenditure. A law allowing for a “line item veto” would fix this but the Politicians will not give this power to the President even though this is what is best for the nation. They will not because it curtails their power. The current Defense Appropriation Bill contained $11 Billion Dollars in “earmarks” that had NOTHING to do with defense!
Then there is the problem of appointment of Federal Judges and Justices to the US Supreme Court. The Politicians want to ensure that these appointees will support them in their ideology and political ambitions. They do NOT want judges and justices that will uphold the Constitution according to the intent of the Founding Fathers. They are only concerned with the furtherance of their plans and the “special interest groups” that fund them and keep them in office to achieve their plans. They, the Politicians” have NO interest in maintaining “that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom – and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.” The law necessary to correct this is real campaign reform which LIMITS contributions by individuals and BANS contributions by ANY organization or special interest group. Our elected representatives are elected to represent the voters NOT organizations, lobbies, special interest groups, corporations, unions, HMO’s, etc. I know of NO organization that can cast a ballot in this nation or any of its fifty states; therefore, only voters should be allowed to contribute to campaigns.
If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to the twelve million criminal invaders called “illegal aliens” and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years. They also could become voters if issued driver licenses because of the Motor-Voter Law that enables you to register when obtaining your driver’s license. It is illegal to grant driver’s licenses to aliens in any of Mexico’s states, yet they continue to lobby for us to do what they will not do.
With Moroni of old, I raise the “title of liberty” and kneel down in mighty prayer unto God for the blessings of liberty to rest upon this land and its people, so long as there should be a band of Christians [LDS, et al] remaining to possess the land. I know deep in my heart that which Amulek reported in the following Scripture is true today:
22 Yea, and I say unto you that if it were not for the prayers of the righteous, [LDS, et al] who are now in the land, that ye would even now be visited with utter destruction; yet it would not be by flood, as were the people in the days of Noah, but it would be by famine, and by pestilence, and the sword.
23 But it is by the prayers of the righteous that ye are spared; now therefore, if ye will cast out the righteous from among you then will not the Lord stay his hand; but in his fierce anger he will come out against you; then ye shall be smitten by famine, and by pestilence, and by the sword; and the time is soon at hand except ye repent.
24 And now it came to pass that the people were more angry with Amulek, and they cried out, saying: This man doth revile against our laws which are just, and our wise lawyers [Legislators, Congressmen and Senators] whom we have selected.
25 But Amulek stretched forth his hand, and cried the mightier unto them, saying: O ye wicked and perverse generation, why hath Satan got such great hold upon your hearts? Why will ye yield yourselves unto him that he may have power over you, to blind your eyes, that ye will not understand the words which are spoken, according to their truth?
26 For behold, have I testified against your law? Ye do not understand; ye say that I have spoken against your law; but I have not, but I have spoken in favor of your law, to your condemnation.
27 And now behold, I say unto you, that the foundation of the destruction of this people is beginning to be laid by the unrighteousness of your lawyers [Legislators, Congressmen and Senators] and your judges. [Alma 10:22-27, emphasis added]
I hope that this raises your consciousness to our peril. You may pass this along, if you desire, to help everyone realize just how much is at stake. Eternal vigilance is the price of freedom; and, apathy is freedom’s greatest danger. Please pray DAILY for our Nation; and, for our Statesmen and Military Personnel who are laboring mightily to preserve our freedoms. Above all, RESOLVE today to become a freedom-fighter!!
