I make no apology for my understanding that God caused this nation to rise and that it was by His providence that it became great. The greatest nation on earth. The beacon of hope and the bulwark of freedom for His children every where. A nation destined to “proclaim liberty throughout all the land [world] unto all the inhabitants thereof:” A nation destined throughout its history, in many conflicts and at the cost of the life’s blood of its citizens, to preserve the liberty and freedom of many nations, kindreds, tongues and peoples.

I make no apology for my understanding that it was God in His infinite wisdom that raised up the Founding Fathers to establish our Constitutional Republic. It was through His Divine providence and inspiration that its founding documents – The Declaration of Independence and the U. S. Constitution – were written. It is from Him that we receive our inalienable rights to life, liberty and property. It must be understood that ALL human rights come from our Father in Heaven and NOT from earthly governments. Because if government has the power and ability to bestow human rights – government has the power to rescind those rights. From 1620 when our Pilgrim Fathers first stepped on Plymouth’s Rock; through the turbulent establishment of this nation; the terrible crucible of Civil War; and on into the first part of the 20th Century, this nation honored this knowledge and the God who caused it to happen.

So what happened in 1913 beginning with the administration of President Woodrow Wilson? By patient, little baby steps, the Progressives, of both parties, began their efforts to TRANSFORM our Constitutional Republic into a Welfare Socialist State. The 16th and 17th Amendments to our Constitution were adopted and the ideal that was America began its slide toward the Welfare Socialist State. With the power to tax the citizens directly, the Federal Government gained the power to enslave We the People. With the direct election of Senators, the States lost their ability to block the Federal government in their efforts to enslave We the People and meddle in their 10th Amendment rights. Because Senators were now beholden to the voters instead of the Governors and Legislatures, the States were unable to thwart “unfunded mandates” as the Progressives moved forward in their efforts to expand the Federal Government.

Instead of “promoting” the general Welfare, the Federal Government began meddling in the internal affairs of the States in violation of the 9th and 10th Amendments, by “providing” for the general Welfare. An educated reading and studying of the Preamble of our Constitution will reveal to ALL honest individuals that this was never the intent of the Founding Fathers.

It was no longer “cool” or “in” to refer to our nation as the Republic it is. One had to be “progressive” and refer to it as a democracy. It was no longer “cool” or “in” to favor national sovereignty. One had to be “progressive” and embrace the League of Nations and then the United Nations. It was no longer “cool” or “in” to expect American citizens to be self-reliant. One had to be “progressive” and redistribute wealth so no one would have the right to fail. It was no longer “cool” or “in” to teach the ideals that made America great. One had to be “progressive” and dumb down the education of our children in order to control the minds of the rising generation and make them acceptable to their progressive propaganda. On and on, for nearly 100 years the progressives have patiently eked away at every principle that made us a great nation.

They, the Progressives, have used every crises of this nation to their advantage to further the Progressive cause. From the New Deal of FDR to the Fair Deal of Harry S Truman to the New Frontier of John F Kennedy to the Great Society of Lyndon B Johnson, they have patiently spun their web. Now however they have decided to come out of the closet and/or remove their mask. Now they have flagrantly enacted the most sweeping piece of social-justice legislation yet — Obama Care — against the wishes of 78% of the citizens of this great nation. And as their thunderous applause heralded their victory — Freedom died a little more! As their thunderous applause heralded their victory — Government of the people, by the people, for the people, perished a little more from the earth!

I have entitled this piece “The ‘Conscience’ of a Progressive.” But do Progressives have a conscience? If one honestly studies their movement one will see that they do not. With Progressives it is always “the ends justify the means.” They will employ ANY means to achieve their goal. They will prostrate themselves on ANY issue for the “good” of the cause. They will violate ANY oath or ANY covenant they have made if it serves the Progressive cause. And what is that cause — to TRANSFORM the greatest nation on earth from a Constitutional Republic into a Welfare Socialist State after the European model. A model which has FAILED in every instance where it was tried. And while laboring in this effort, EVERY Progressive will lie through his or her teeth denying that that is what their true objective is. Why? Because if their lies dupe you into believing them, helping them or simply lulls you into acquiescence – They have furthered the Progressive agenda and cause of transforming our Constitutional Republic, destroying our God given inalienable rights and enslaving We the People.

At the beginning of this article, I wrote that it is my understanding that God in His infinite wisdom caused these United States and our Constitutional Republic to be established. If you agree with my premiss that He established this nation, it necessarily follows then that those who would oppose His will to the destruction of this nation are in league with some other power. I will leave it to the reader to decide who or what that power is.

May God continue to bless the United States of America! And may the Patriots of this land humbly, in mighty prayer, acknowledge our errs and plead that He will heal our land, restoring it to the greatness we had for 125 years as a Constitutional Republic.
