Civil Discourse and the Progressives

Amore Dei, Familiae, Patriae ducit !

Just yesterday I was once again confronted with the immoral conduct of the Progressive movement as I witnessed an ad produced to scare seniors, of which I am one, into believing that Paul Ryan’s budget proposal on Medicare will throw “Granny” over the cliff. This ad is immoral because NO ONE, conservative or liberal, on the right or the left, is suggesting any such thing and to visually depict it graphically with a man, whose silhouette is obviously similar to Paul Ryan, pushing an elderly lady in a wheelchair over the cliff lends nothing to the “civil discourse” that needs to be held in order to solve the Medicare problem. But once again because the Progressives cannot win the debate on the merits they resort to fearmongering!

The truth is that, in the Ryan proposal, the Medicare of those 55 and over is “grand fathered” and will not change at all. The proposal is only about those who are NOT currently enrolled. In addition, it is only a starting point for the debate and NOT the end of the debate. Has anyone on the left offered a starting point for the debate? I don’t think so!

The whole of the “Entitlement” portion of the federal budget MUST be addressed if we are to save the nation from financial ruin and retain the dollar as the world’s reserve currency. It is NOT just Medicare. It is Social Security, Mediaid and a host of other social-justice programs which the Progressives and Socialist-DINO’s wish to be untouchable. They wish them to be untouchable so that they can retain power at the expense of We the People. In truth, they care NOTHING about our Constitutional Republic as long as they can retain power. In truth, they care NOTHING about securing “the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity” as long as they can retain power.

The fact is when the programs were started the life expectancy in this nation was some ten years less and the technological advances of modern medicine were only dreams in the minds of man. In the face of these changes the entitlement programs for “seniors” as then envisioned are unsustainable and will bankrupt our nation in the near future. Either we change the programs to support the new life expectancy and the realities of modern science or NO ONE will have the benefits anyway because the nation will have passed into history because of the stubborn rigid and intransigent position of the Progressives and the Socialist-DINOs who will not even enter into any serious discussion of the issue.

May God Bless and Save the United States of America!
Our Constitutional Republic
