Democratic Fiscal Responsibility
William J. Dell – 23 March 2011
Amore Dei, Familiae, Patriae ducit !
When are the Senate and the Oval Office going to get serious about our National Debt? When are the Democrats going to accept what We the People are telling them? We’re broke! We don’t have the money! It is time to be serious about budget cuts and the $61B in the current 2011 Budget Cycle “Continuing Resolution” is just a down payment on what we need to do. In truth, we need to balance the budget in ALL areas, except the war costs !
But the Obama Administration remains duplicitous as their lead negotiator, the Vice-President, leaves the country while talks are on-going and the President refuses to take the lead because of “hopeful” re-election political gains. We cannot continue to support the “open ended” spending spree of President Obama who has spent more than all his predecessors combined in just two years. We cannot continue to support the printing of “fiat” dollars by the Federal Reserve. We cannot continue to support a Democratic controlled Senate, or their Majority Leader, in their thinly veiled efforts to thwart efforts of the House to curb the spending for their own political gain. We the People will remember !
Even the proposal of limiting the budget to 2008 levels is not enough. Those levels will still grow the debt. There should be no effort to raise the current “debt ceiling” until the spending is cut to balance the 2012 Budget ! We need cuts in the $100B not $10B if we as a nation are to survive economically and the dollar continue as the world’s reserve currency. All areas of the budget, including social-justice programs, need to be cut.
The federal workforce also needs to be cut. We can begin with the 25,000 that Obama has hired since his assuming the presidency. And then we can find, I’m sure, several 1000 more. What about a 10% cut in bureaucrats in the Congress and all the Cabinet Departments. Can any thinking American honestly believe that the work of the federal government would not get done with 10% less federal employees.
It is time for the Democrats to behave with fiscal responsibility. If they were directors of a corporation, their failure in their fiduciary responsibility would be considered criminal.
