08. Supporting National Unity and Our Troops

By William J. Dell – 17 September 2011
Amore Dei, Familiae, Patriae ducit !

Let each of us do ALL that is within our power to unite rather than divide us as a nation. Let us return to the sentiment of our National Motto – “E Pluribus Unum” – Out of many, One. We, as a people and as a nation, need to put away the hyphen which has divided us for years. Most of us were born within the 50 States. Many others, who have come here legally, have gone through the citizenship process. As such, we are Americans – First, Last, Always – and that says it all. This does not mean that we forget our roots, but that our roots become and are secondary to being an American. That our allegiance is to supporting the Ideal of America, our founding documents and our Constitutional Republic.

Many of our elected Members of Congress seem to have forgotten they took an oath to defend our Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. This includes supporting our service men and women. They, our elected Members of Congress and the President, are required to stay in this fight for as long as it takes. They are required by their oath to defend our freedoms and our way of life granted by the Constitution no matter however long and hard the road. To do less than this is to renege on their oath and instead of being a Freedom-Fighter they become a fighter-of-freedom.

We do NOT want a recurrence of September 11, 2001. This is really why our troops are overseas protecting our shores and our freedoms. The troops do NOT need to be reminded of this, but apparently many of the citizens of this great nation do. Race and class disappeared September 11, 2001 as we remembered that we are all Americans. Flags began to be flown from many homes in support of America and our Troops. But where has it gone? Why have we allowed our “leaders, political and otherwise,” to divide us once again by race and class? Are you being a fighter-of-freedom contributing to this divisiveness, or are you being a Freedom-Fighter who is defending UNITY and the cause of freedom no matter however long and hard the road? Are you speaking up in defense of our way of life and our God given freedoms?

This is a Patriot’s Responsibility!
